Clarion Audio Products - Review

Clarion has years of experience creating products that not only sound great, but are designed specifically to survive in the marine environment. Water resistance and UV resistance are top priorities in their marine stereo gear.

Clarion component subwoofers are available in 10” and 12” sizes. Clarion amplifiers are also available in a variety of sizes and configurations. You should also browse through the Clarion Satellite radio adapters, which allow you to listen to XM or Sirius Satellite radio in the car.

Clarion also has a Web portal that you can send info to, download widgets from, and use as a direct conduit to your PC. The idea is to send things to the portal and sync the Mind to that portal, not to the PC. It also has a way to tag sites and sort of cache others for offline browsing. The short demo we had looked very nice.

Clarion is introducing three newly designed marine head-units for 2007. All three head-units feature MP3 and WMA playback, rotary volume knob, auxiliary inputs and marine cosmetics. All Clarion Marine head units have had their circuit boards conformably coated designed specifically to protect electronic components being used in harsh environments. Clarion marine head-units also have specially coated circuit boards to resist mold, mildew, and moisture damage. Clarion's CD mechanisms minimize mistaking without resorting to buffer circuits, which add distortion and degrade sound quality.
