Optima Batteries - Superior Internal Design

Inside the unique shell of the Optima battery is a radically superior internal design. The structure of conventional batteries — lead plates hanging in pools of acid — requires those lead plates to provide their own structural support. To accomplish this, the lead is diluted with high percentages of inert stiffening metals that rob those conventional batteries of performance.

The most advanced AGM Battery in today's market is the OPTIMA BATTERY Optima Batteries contain spirally wound cells, as opposed to traditional flat plate batteries. The spiral cell design allows the use of lead in its purest form, as each cell has spirally wound plates separated by a glass mat, then pressed into tubes restricting the need for plate strengtheners. As alloys are used for strengtheners in flat plate batteries, their shelf life is limited, sometimes as low as three months.
